Amy Smart has been a actor, model and a former American. She was born in California USA, Amy Smart started her modeling career in California. Her acting debut came in the year 1996 with her debut in the TV film Her Costly Affair. Her struggle to land a part for Starship Troopers, a film that featured mostly minor roles, was a gruelling battle. Amy struggled to make the switch from modeling to acting because models aren't usually thought of as to be actors of any kind. They are usually given smaller roles that aren't important. But somehow Amy was determined to keep going and stepped into bigger roles eventually starting with the series The 70s and the film Varsity Blues. She then ventured into the main roles for the 2005 romantic comedy film Just Friends which also starred Ryan Reynolds. Amy gained recognition after more than 10 years of working.
