Amy Smart is an American former model and actress. Growing up and being raised in California USA she started her modeling career in Italy. Her first acting role was in the TV film Her Costly Affair. The actress struggled for the role she wanted on Starship Troopers. She struggled with the transition to acting because models weren't considered good actors, and they generally were offered smaller roles. Amy was never discouraged. Her first major part came from The 70s followed by Varsity Blues. In the course of a couple of years, Amy took the leap to more prominent roles. The film she starred in was the love story Just Friends alongside Ryan Reynolds. Amy finally got the recognition she'd been looking for since the age of 10. Then she continued to appear in some of the biggest film productions, such as the Crank series with Jason Statham as well as Shameless in which she played a recognizable character.
